Eugene is presently our Chairman, having joined the association four years ago. He has previously been our Vice-Chairman.
After a long career in local government and then the Scottish Parliament, Eugene took early retirement. It was at this time he wished to get involved in the life of Cupar and connected with our Association.

‘As a retired person I enjoy volunteering my skills and experience to support the development of the Y and the valuable work it does in the local community.’

Audrey has a long association with our YMCA-YWCA for 45 years.
She has had many roles within the organisation including Joint Chairman, and Management Committee member for 40 years. She’s also been a playgroup leader, led the fundraising subcommittee, and volunteered within a range of activity groups and in the office.
In recognition of her voluntary work, she was awarded Cupar Citizen of the Year.
Audrey’s commitment to the Y is longstanding and she says ‘It keeps my brain active. I like the friendships I’ve found here over the years. I find people are so friendly and helpful’.

Dave joined the Y back in the mid-1980s and has supported our work for nearly 40 years.

He’s had a range of roles: Joint Chairman – twice, Committee Member, Staffing Sub-Committee and supportive fundraiser.

Dave says: ‘It seemed like a good idea back in 1984/85 when I was looking for a voluntary role in the local community. The ‘Y’ is an organisation which supports young people, and faces challenges with teamwork, so I guess it was the right decision to join in.’

Jacqui has been involved in the work of the Y for over 20 years.
She is presently a Committee Member representing Triangle Under 5s Playgroup.
She describes her involvement:
‘My youngest child attended Triangle Under 5s playgroup many years ago, and as he got older, he attended various groups within the YMCA-YWCA and the Youth Café. I wanted to support the work of the organisation.
As Manager of Triangle Under 5s now, I am happy to sit on the committee both as a representative of Triangle and as a parent who sees the benefit that the work of the YMCA-YWCA has on the lives of children and young people.’

Margaret has many years’ service to the Y joining the Management Committee way back in the 1990’s.

As a retired accountant, she spotted the request for a volunteer treasurer to take over the role here at the Y. And that was the start of her journey. Over the decades, she has been responsible for the financial side of the association’s work completing day to day monetary tasks and preparing annual accounts.

Margaret wanted to give back something within her community and saw the Y as having a key role, working with young people and families within Cupar.

Chris recently retired and has just joined our committee.

He brings a whole range of skills and experiences from his working life.

He has taken up the role of Building Convener.

Chris is a keen musician and is a member of the local community choir.
