You may recall that during the summer we advised of works that were being undertaken to our second-floor bathroom, thanks to funding received from The National Lottery Community Fund.
Unfortunately, and at the very early stages of the refurbishment, it was identified that structural remedial work needed to be completed first and due to such, we were unable to proceed with the planned works. We have now received confirmation that the remedial works and refurbishment can commence on the 29th of September 2025, which will likely run the course of 3 weeks. This will unfortunately bring with it some building and construction type noises during the day, which you may be able to hear when your groups meet. Our carpark will also be closed to the public for the duration; this is due to trade vehicles coming and going as well as a skip being needed.
📌 The building will be open as usual during this time with its usual programme of activities however, our office will be operating from a limited capacity and we will only be able to offer services (such as photocopying etc) and support during the hours of 9am – 12pm. Please note that the office will be closed on a Thursday.
Understandably the structural remedial works were not anticipated when the initial grant was received, and the cost of which will only be covered partially by insurance. This will leave a significant amount remaining to be paid by The Y. We appreciate that everyone is feeling the pinch from the spiralling costs of living and running businesses, however if you, or your organisation, are in a position to donate to our Just Giving pot to help reduce our outlay, we would be ever so grateful. We are trying to minimise any disruption as much as possible and thank you all in advance for your support and understanding while the works are underway.
